  • Q. Why does my child need NHDP'?

Your child has been assessed by the Developmental Pediatrician and has noted the concerns with the child’s developmental and behavioural aspects. The Developmental Pediatrician may prescribe the NHDP” to address the concerns observed and to enable the child’s step-by-step development.
  • Q. What does NHDP offer?

NHDP is a child-individualized intervention program of three-months duration conducted by the Developmental Pediatrician and the team. Once enrolled, the parent and the child will participate in the intervention sessions. The frequency of these interventions varies based the NHDP® outlined by the Developmental Pediatrician. During these three months, the parent will be coached on a home program and will be guided to execute the same in the home environment. The Clinical Head of the Centre will meet the parent once in a month and share the child’s overall progress and the challenges with the parent and will reiterate the points which the parents need to focus on. At the end of every month, the Developmental Pediatrician will meet the parent and the child, assess the child’s progress over the past month and define the program for the next month as per the child’s progress. The Developmental Pedeatrician and the senior clinical team will assess the child’s progress over the last three months and share the report with the parents.
  • Q. What are we supposed to do at home to help the child do better?

New Horizons believes that parents play a very crucial role in the child’s progress, and you will be guided by the Developmental Pediatrician and the Clinical Head to work with the child at home.
  • Q. How long will it take to see improvements in my child?

NHDP focuses on the child’s progress in his/her normal development. The child will show gradual and well-defined progress in achieving milestones one after another. Every child has his/her own pace of progress and the Developmental Pediatrician will share the same every month with you.
  • Q. Will I receive any formal evaluation report for my child?

Yes, if the Developmental Pediatrician has discussed with you and prescribed additional formal assessments and evaluations, the same will be scheduled separately. After completion of the evaluations you will be provided with the detailed Evaluation Report.
  • Q. Will I also get further explanations and solutions to the challenges observed at home during this program?

yes, you are suggested to maintain a diary to note down your daily observations and share them with the Developmental Pediatrician and the Clinical Head. You can ask the Developmental Pediatrician about your child’s progress-related queries in the monthly consultation. If any more meetings are specially indicated with the Developmental Pediatrician or the Clinical Head, the same may be included in the program without any additional cost.
